Spring Orientation Weekend Schedule

8:00am-12:00pm New Student Move-In - Residence Halls

1:00pm-1:30pm New Student Orientation Check In - Student Center International Lounge
Free parking available in Lot 11 & 13 (across from Student Center).

1:30pm Welcome Program - Student Center Auditorium 

2:15pm-3:15pm Academic/College Welcomes

  • Students and families attend a welcome with the student’s specific academic college or school. Learn about opportunities for involvement and success in the student’s major and career field.

3:30pm-4:30pm Resource Fair - Student Center International Lounge

  • Explore some of what SIU has to offer by meeting with university staff and campus departments during the Resource Fair. Note that immunization compliance forms can be turned in at the Student Health Center table during the Resource Fair.

4:30pm-6:00pm Saluki Hangout - Student Center Bowling & Billiards 

  • Bowling, Billiards, E-Sports & Pizza with new students and Orientation Leaders 

Additional Orientation Tasks

Visit Financial Aid and Bursar (Billing)

Get your Student ID

  • Photos will be taken at the ID Office during orientation. You must bring a government issued picture/photo ID to get your card.

Purchase your Parking Pass

  • In order to purchase your parking pass you will need your vehicle registration, license plate number, and SIU Dawg Tag.

Visit the University Bookstore

  • Purchase your Saluki Apparel and textbooks. 

Check your SIU email address

  • After you register for classes, SIU will only communicate information to you through this email. 

Download the Saluki SuperFan App

  • This app that you can use to check-in at events, such as SIU Athletics and Student Programming Council events, and earn points for prizes.

7:00pm Men's Basketball Game vs Drake - Banterra Center 

Parents and guests may purchase tickets online.
Students will need to show Student ID for admission into the game

Sunday, January 14, 2024 

2:00pm-4:00pm Sweat at the Rec - Student Recreation Center 

  • Come dressed in comfortable clothes and shoes and learn more about the many features of the Student Recreation Center! Play pickle ball, lift weights, walk the track or use the pool, it’s all available to our students! Bring your ID and meet at the Information Desk at 2pm.
