GETTING AROUND CARBONDALE

Jackson County Mass Transit is a great option for local transportation. If you are arriving at the Amtrak station between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., you can schedule a ride with them by calling (618)549-0304. The cost is $2 per person and can be paid over the phone at time of booking or with exact change on the date of the ride. It is highly recommended to schedule your ride at least two days in advance, as space is limited.

Saluki Express

Saluki Express is a free service for SIU students which can also be used by visitors and general public at a cost of $1 per person. Routes can be found at the website.

*Ride-sharing options such as Uber and Lyft are limited during the summer. Availability can be checked by downloading and checking the app once in the Carbondale area. This is not the best option if you need a ride scheduled in advance.
