Phase Three: Supplemental Orientation Experiences
In addition to getting ready for SIU and learning how to be a Saluki, orientation is about making connections and forming relationships that will last four years - and even longer. Throughout the summer, we'll offer a variety of events and virtual spaces where you can connect with other Salukis, current SIU students, and the SIU community.
*Note that attendance at Phase 3 events is not required. These are optional experiences.
New Student Programs will offer a variety of date options for students to visit campus during a half-day session where you take a campus housing tour, meet current and fellow incoming Salukis and obtain your student ID. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to check other items off their to-do list such as visiting the Financial Aid and Bursar's Offices in their free time.
This does not replace the Virtual New Student Orientation. Virtual New Student Orientation is required for all incoming freshman and strongly recommended for incoming transfer students. Our Salukis Engage sessions are an optional experience, with limited capacities.
Due to Illinois entering Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan, students are now allowed to bring up to three guests. Those who are fully vaccinated will not be required to wear a face covering, and those who are not fully vaccinated should wear a face covering both indoors and outdoors.
Salukis Engage Dates: *A morning and afternoon session may be offered each day.
